SU DEVELOPMENT CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS - BELLEVUE, WA

5,500 SF Tenant Improvement

With origins in Hong Kong, commercial developer John Su wished to build a Washington corporate base that celebrates Feng Sui traditions with a modern interpretation of energy flow, also known as “chi”. The chosen metaphorical language for the flow of chi in the building is based on family birth signs: an imaginary stream channel bordered by riparian vegetation. This abstract landscape is brought to life with accent flooring,  and an ordered layout of maple columns topped by colored, sandblasted plexiglass shades. Combined with recessed lighting, the shades become glowing sconces, creating a motif that is reinterpreted throughout the design.
